[Episode 1] I Can See Them! Motor Fairies

2025.01.28

Hello everyone.
I am Sugiken, the instructor of “Teacher Sugiken’s Motor Driver Dojo.”
From here on, I will be explaining on behalf of Dora.

Sugiken’ s Profile

Mr. Sugiken works as an associate fellow at ROHM’s Motor LSI Division. He provides various technical advice on motor driver IC development, develops new driving algorithms to improve motor characteristics, and also serves as a lecturer at internal and external study sessions on motor technology and holds technical lectures.

Introduction

Motors are used in various fields, including home appliances, industrial equipment, and automobiles. Roughly ten billion units are produced annually worldwide, and the demand for motors is increasing.

On the other hand, motors are said to account for about half of the world’s electricity consumption. To address energy issues, not only power saving of motors themselves, but also highly efficient motor drive and control technologies are becoming extremely important.

This has led to an increase in the number of engineers involved in the design and development of motor-based equipment, and there are many people newly working on motor devices.
For these reasons, this course is designed for engineers involved in the development of motor devices, more specifically for designers of 3-phase brushless motor drive circuits, and is also an introductory course for beginner engineers.
